After the Last Train

The last train leaves just after midnight, and for a few minutes the city belongs to whoever stays behind. Kenji waited in the rain until the lanterns were the only lights left burning, then followed a single stranger down the alley — one clear umbrella glowing under the neon of shuttered ramen shops and yakitori bars. Shot in a side street off the main drag, long after the crowds had gone home.
