Vending Light

In Tokyo, the vending machine is a kind of street lantern — four of them glowing side by side on a rainy lane, warming the wet asphalt for no one in particular. Kenji framed this one in the hour between the last customers and the first trains, when the only witness was a cat sitting out the drizzle under their light.
